No, not aliens, inter dimensional beings. They could be from another Earth for all we know.
For the most part, I actually found the movie pretty enjoyable. The only thing that got to me was the magnet that was so powerful it could float grains of gunpowder over from hundreds of yards away, but could have crowbars stuck on it pulled off with (relatively) no trouble.

"Aliens" as is something from not here. Granted, all the other Indy's had paranormal storylines as well, but they were human history paranormals (religious powers really). I know that "aliens" have been a theory for many ancient civilizations (I am not part of this school of thought), but this really felt like it was just pushing it.
Otherwise, yes, it was very fun and entertaining. I love me some Indy. Even though he's an atrocious archaeologist. Gah ::shudder::
As for the gunpowder thing, it could just be an attraction thing. Since gun powder doesn't actually have anything to be magnetized in it (much like the gold as pointed out later on), it might be less of a strength thing and more of a just attracts things from seemingly far distance but won't hold them particularly hard. It just draws them in. I don't know if I'm explaining that clearly. My head's a little garbbled at the moment.

"It's magic/foreign science/trans dimensional/the force. I don't have to explain it." Thanks, George Lucas.

Just saw the movie... it was weird. It was pretty formulaic in the sense that when they discovered something such as the crystal skull, the ruskies show up with guns trained on them and take it away, you know typical blockbuster sort of movie. I thought anyways. But it is compensated for by the fact its frickin Indiana jones, and also, because he rode a refrigerator out of a nuclear blast. Best. scene. ever.

Yes, clearly nothing can kill Indiana Jones. Not even a nuclear holocaust. Even though the impact of falling that high and then that far in a large metal box would have killed him on impact . . . well, hey, it was fun. Stupid gophers though . . .

I feel obligated to point out they were both prarie dogs. Damn Lucas and his rubbery CGI. DAMN HIM.
Did anyone understand the thirteen skeletons turning into one 'interdimensional being' and Kate Blanchett being turned into dust? Because there were paintings outside of thirteen, not one.

The prairie dogs (pardon me for not knowing the difference between small fuzzy ground-dwelling critters) just reminded me of ewoks and Lucas' love of annoying 'cute' creatures. Guh. So not necessary.
They actually only showed up three times or something but by the second time, I was already rolling my eyes and shaking my fists in the air. By the third time, I made an inarticulate sound around the lines of "Gwaah!" and sort of gave up hope.
You know, the more I think about this movie, the more displeased with it I become.

What I meant is: Why did thirteen skeletons mesh into one fully animated, flesh and blood alien-guy? The paintings on the walls outside the chamber depicted thirteen of the aliens, which suggests that the thirteen of them didn't regulary merge into one, or didn't merge into one. Am I completely moronic, or did this part just make absolutely no sense?
The Kate Blanchette bit was a seperate thought.
