We can agree to disagree.

I'd avoid the taser anyway. A shooting taser can only be used once and it stuck to the zombie while a hand held stun gun is far too up close and personal and you mind as well bring out your axe. I think tasers are really just a non-issue. Keep in mind that the entire reason tasers and stunguns exist is to act as NONLETHAL weapons that temporarily restrain an attacker without causing permanent injury. We aren't interested in nonlethal options for zombies, we want to deanimate the buggers with extreme prejudice.

Unless you wanted to study a live one, and needed to capture it I guess.

Unless you wanted to study a live one, and needed to capture it I guess. *Capture* a live zombie? Well, if I wanted to, I'd use a big heavy tarpaulin as a net. Not a real net, because the zombie might manage to scratch or bite through the mesh.

Well whatever. I don't care what you guys say, first zombie apocalypse the world suffers, i'm going to find a tazer and shoot a zombie with it, just because I want to. For fun even.

Here's a though someone has probably already covered in some movie: how long would the internet last? That just occured to me now.

unless you have a safe, secure location I don't think you would want to be using the internet.
I think it would be best to have GPS and/or maps at the ready along with walky talkies

I've thought about that. I'm guessing that as long as there's electricity in the places were the servers of the sites are located, it can be accessed. I might ask my IT brother about that.

I've thought about that. I'm guessing that as long as there's electricity in the places were the servers of the sites are located, it can be accessed. I might ask my IT brother about that. My understanding of the GPS system is that it's completely independent of the ground...there are a bunch of satellites in orbit transmit "here I am and here's who I am" pulses. Your GPS receiver picks up several of these signals, triangulates between them to determine its own location, and contains all of the maps and routing stuff inside its own local memory. So, as long as you have electricity for your local GPS unit, you should be fine. That's my understanding, anyway. I may be totally wrong, since this isn't something I've really looked into.

If there's a zombie uprising in my town, I'm screwed. There's a big window in both rooms and a big sliding glass door in the back. No way do I have enough stuff to block that off. In fact, that was the first observation I made to my husband (boyfriend, at the time) when we decided to sign the lease. I think a normal person would ask, "And he still married you after you said that?" but, good for me, I married an uber geek

Here's a though someone has probably already covered in some movie: how long would the internet last? That just occured to me now. I would say as long as the servers still had power and you had power. In WWZ it took about a month after america was completely infested for the internet to die.
