So... Fallout games... woot.
Anyone else play any of the series? Numbers 1 and 2 are a couple of my favorite games, haven't tracked down any of the sides like Tactics or Brotherhood of steel though.
If so, or if not I guess, played Fallout 3? What'dyou think?
Myself? At the same time I adore the game and yet am completely frusterated and disappointed in it. Probably not unlike some parents... although I didn't make it obviously, so that's probably more like adoptive parents.
Mostly, I love being able to roam about the wasteland at my leisure, scavenging parts and supplies off of raiders and those less fortunate than I. It's a great game in it's own right, I just have issues with how they've dumned down some things really... I would have prefered a method of streamlining things that still left plenty of details and options.
That, and the game's a bit TOO dystopian. At least in the previous games life was making a comeback, there were even farms! If of mutated two-headed cows, that would sometimes get raided by gigantic maneating scorpions.
also: Super Mutants? Totally flanderized.
In short, aside from the various and numerous release date bugs... I find myself both loving and hating Bethesda for this game.
Haven't finished it yet, just as note. I keep getting distracted by being the hero of the wasteland.

<---- Loved it as well . . .
IT is 5 am right now so all I will say is, I was slightly frustrated with it.

Haven't had a ton of time to play it in a while. I'm a fallout junkie and I recoiled in horror to what they've done to my favorite Ghoul. I can only hope it'll be retconned in Interplay's Fallout MMO they're officially not really working on, but everyone knows that they are.
Having fun with my Fat Man though.
And I don't really like the Vault Experiments angle... that was kinda weird and stupid. But they had to do SOMETHING, so I forgive them.
And some parts seem just plain underdeveloped. For SHAME bethesda soft! For SHAME.
at. And yet... it's still my current favorite game. Odd that.
