This is almost, kind of, sort of related to the current storyline in the comic... But I'm curious, will any readers out there be at the Michigan Renaissance Festival this weekend? I'll be there both Saturday and Sunday, wearing my "dragon scale armor" costume I made myself (after 6 months of effort, I'm wanting as many people to see it as possible!) and I thought it'd be fun if fellow fans of the comic wanted to do a "pub crawl" or just meet up someplace. Look for a guy dressed like this link: NefariousDrO.deviantart.com/art/Standing-Guard-at-the-RenFaire-134484340

I'll be at the Texas Renaissance Festival, however I will be going with my fellow "Samurai" from my Kendo Dojo... Let's see if the barbarians will pick on me THIS year

I've always wanted to go to that festival, I hear it's incredibly huge! I'd love to see a pic of you and your fellow "samurai", how long have you studied Kendo? That's not an easy form to learn, from what I hear!

Hey, Erika and I will be at the MI RenFest on Sunday (09/20/09). We'll totally meet up at the Guinness Pub for a beer with you. Anyone is is utterly invited. Also, people are more than welcome to buy us beer.

Cool! I'll be on the lookout, but truth is I'll probably be pretty hard to miss... Just yell "Mike". Okay, that's far too common of a name, now that I think about it, you'll probably have half the bar turn and say "What?" Um, I guess knowing how crowded that place can get, just fight your way over and say hi. I'll certainly be more than willing to buy some Guinness, considering how much you guys have entertained me, it's the least I could do.

Alright neat. It looks like we're planning to be at the pub around 2pm. We'll be two of the millions of random chicks in corsets.

It's a bit early to be thinking about this, I suppose, but I'm drawing up plans for opening weekend of the festival. My sister and her 8 or 9 year old (I can't believe that I can't remember how old he is, I'm a lousy uncle) are even planning to be here to go with me! So, I still owe you two some Guinness, as I recall, and if you're going to be there the 21st I'm wearing the dragon scale again. I suspect that with things being kind of crazy for you guys right now that seems unlikely, though.

Unless crazy happens, we have standing plans to hit Ren Fest every year, though I don't think we've ever been there opening weekend. We're more a middle-of-the-season type of people.

I recall from last year that's what you guys did. I'm close enough (Ann Arbor) that I'll be getting a season pass and going often once again. I only get to wear my "dragon scale armor" at renfests, so I take every change to dust it off I can get. Anybody else who's in the area and plans to attend don't hesitate to say hi, I'm taking my sister and her 10 year-old son to their first renfest ever, so I'm really hoping they have a good time.

I'll be there next sunday, but I don't know what our exact plans are. So if you see me, come say hi, and if I see you, I will come say hi.

I can definitely understand that! I once made the mistake of wearing chainmail to it, and I thought I was going to be broiled alive by the thing! I'm heading out this weekend though because my sister and her son will be in town, and they've got to hit this thing before his school year starts back up an all. Plus, it's their first time at a renfaire, so I'm doubly excited about it. I do hope the heat holds off for us, though.

Amen to the hope for coolness. I'm not planning on dressing up much, if at all this time. I'll save the costuming for later in the season
