Because of the whole Lore moving and having more things to deal with than penciling and inking a page, and therefore my having no page to color, next week we're going to post a "Answer Reader Questions" page instead.
In this thread, ask questions about the comic. They can be about our process, how we think of things, how we make the comic, etc. They can be about us as artists or people in general. They can be about the characters, such as backstory questions or clarifications on plots past.
We'll pick the ones we want to answer and post them next week. Don't bother asking questions that might reveal future plot information, or that are really personal about us. They won't be picked.
If you don't want to ask your question here, you can PM it to us. If you do so, send the PM to BOTH of us (my username is "Admin"). No kvetching about anyone's questions!
Lurkers! We know you're there! Now is the time to chime in.
There will be karma in the future of anyone whose questions we choose.
This was a good question that came in after I'd typed up the update, so I'm gonna answer it here. Lore can chime in with her thoughts later.
I would say that we both put a little something into Val of ourselves. We all feel like ordinary people in a world that cares only about the extraordinary. We're all shy around the opposite sex. We're all pretty good at what we do. Lore can heal faster than normal, but that's just her.
I think that when creating Val, we focused less on OUR traits and more on the traits that we both admire. Val is a strong, competant woman. She may be small, but she has worked hard to be all she can be, physically. She's intelligent, has good sense, and a strong sense of loyalty and what's right and wrong. And she isn't perfect. She doesn't always display the best tact, and I think that sometimes she tries so hard to buck the stereotype of what she "should" be that she does a little judging of her own.
Mack, on the other hand, is someone who one doesn't really look to have their own traits in. Mack is all of those pretty girls who giggle and act dumb because they think it's cute. She's the girl in college who'll think nothing of wearing 4 inch heels and a miniskirt to walk to class in a blizzard. She really isn't all that bright, and she's a little selfish. I'd say that we put into Mack traits in women that we don't admire. It's important to remember, though, that Mack is still a good person. She tries very hard to do right. She may not be an effective superhero, but she does risk her life to do it. She had a tiny brain but a big heart.
As for the other characters, a lot of them have more to do with big inside jokes than explorations of our psyches. I think it's more the main two girls that are currently anything deeper.
