You know, there was a time when I would really make an effort to get the anatomy correct. But for this I really just put the lines where I thought they looked best.
As Erika said, "Congratulations. You are officially a comic book artist."
To this, my response was, "Watch out, Rob Liefeld! I'm coming for your job!"
I heart the tvtrope page! We're in two of them. Dude looks like a lady, and something about big dumb blondes. But I don't think we're on the road to silliness anytime soon. She's oinly sustained SEVERE injury three times, including now, and one was a flashback.
Yes, an interesting trope. The difference is that most of the sections on it deal with a fast Wolverine-type healing factor. Like the part about these characters seem clumsy because they just blunder into things because they can survive or people taking stupid or suicidal risks because they'll just heal. Val doesn't really do these things. She's not clumsy by any means, though she has been known to stick herself into to danger when it means saving someone else (usually Illumina). And she can't do risky and showy things like, say, throwing herself out a 20 story window to get to the bottom faster, like Claire from Heroes. Because she can jump right through that window and hit the bottom and survive, but she can't exactly jump up, crack her neck and walk away. That's likely at least a weeks stay in the hospital followed up by another week or so of healing.
If she's anything, she's what is mentioned toward the bottom of the article, the person who DOES get messed up but somehow survives anyway. Yes, she's going to be the target for enemy attack more than anyone else in this comic. Why? Because the comic is about her. And if this guy had grabbed Haze and smashed her down through the crates and into the floor, there is a high possibility that Haze would have been killed instantly and we're not exactly ready to get rid of her yet. In the end, you kinda have to stick with this trope or all your non-healing characters would, if reasonably written, have to be killed off and then you're just stuck with one lonely person with a healing factor.
And in the end, part of the reason for this comic IS to use tropes and make fun of them.
I don't know why that just seemed defensive. I'm sorry. It just read the article and it got me thinking.
Hehe.. It looks like they fed that growing syrum to somone... At least he seemes to have stopped growing.
And.. Dr. Grandpa? *bink blink* Odd name
I am definaly intrested to know if that expression on his face is "OMG i'm her friend and didn't know she could survive that wow" OR "Omg.. my heart is going squish like her now!"
