Oh, this is not good. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but to me it looks like suppression and the start of a vendetta. I certainly hope he can pull out of it before he catches up with the bad guy, or things will go, poorly, and we will be missing yet another hero.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens. Depending on what happens with this arc, I will be quoting Wrath of Khan periodically during the updates...

Given the heroic education system I'd say that psychologically they're extremely prone to vendettas. I mean they are part of a workplace culture where avenging your loved ones with flying fists of justice is quite commonplace and probably quietly encouraged. Unless I'm mistaken, I seem to remember "Has your best friend been killed by a supervillain?" being one of the questions Val was asked when she applied to school. Psychological trauma would be a shared experience among many heroes, and may result in a culture of acceptance and even encouragement of that trauma. ...okay, I'll stop being a psychologist now Personally I'm more interested in the symbolism of not throwing his rose. There's a lot of power in that gesture.

Heroic vendetta... Yeah I can easily see that. Probably not just her either. Just as with cops, murdering a hero is a GREAT way to anger the entire hero population. Death in combat? Fine. Murder however tends to anger the hero community.
Just look at the Identity Crisis storyline from DC comics.

Okay, he's definitely going to be gunning for the Coroner. This suggests that the heroes are going to be "nice" about this and follow "the rules" as opposed to a back-channel organized vendetta a la 1970's major-metropolis cops. Question of the moment: is Coroner an official member of the Villain Agency? If so, is this so beyond the pale that they will drop him? If dropped or never-was, are villians going to hunt Coroner also? Why? To protect themselves? To have the heroes owe them a favor? Or are they going to try to turn the surviving twin? (Heh, why not both at the same time?) Or is the mysterious Vigilante going to steal everyone's thunder....again? This does proceed to get interesting.

Somehow, I don't think he registered with the villain agency. But I could be wrong. From his backstory, he went underground directly after the explosion. That, and I have doubts the villain agency would approve him killing other villains too. From what little we've seen of it, the villain agency seems to have it's own rules. And it'd be bad for business to have your clients murdered.
Of course, I could be wrong too.
Speaking of which, how much do Heroes and Sidekicks get paid?

Speaking of which, how much do Heroes and Sidekicks get paid? Direct Deposit, I imagine, same as everyone else, payable to the Shimmering Paladin Credit Union for Superheros. Villain pay (a token sum, villains are expected to be more self-sufficient via their criminal enterprises) goes to the anonymous offshore bank account of the villain's choice... Heh, I'm now envisioning Villain stipends to be paid only if they aren't successful criminally, kind of like Unemployment Insurance...and no villain ever admits to receiving such, because of the implied admission of failure....
