aaaaaand thus begins a new story arc. Oh, the dramatic tension! The cliffhanger! The poor little kid about to suffocate!
Also, it's been commented in other applications that the font is too small and hard to read. So I'm experimenting. There may be a couple of different fonts over the next few weeks, so let me know how y'all feel about them.
I'm also considering moving from elipse speech bubbles to square ones with rounded corners, for saving space. Opinions? Thoughts?

She invested in some better hairspray. Or perhaps I should say mightier hairspray. "Mighty Hairspray" sounds like a good brand name to me.

Upon closer inspection of Valerie I have to wonder how old she is . . . Her right breast seems to sag some in panel 1 . . .

she's young. any sagging is the fault of the artist. don't blame her.

Ten points to the first person who points out the two comics that reference exactly how old Val is.

In 2007-06-27, she's 22, and in 2007-11-21 her birthday is 1984-12-14. But I think that malkavianmarine must mean Mackenzie? I'm not a webcomicker myself, but I've geeked out on fonts for fanmixes that I've made, downloading and trying out a bunch. FWIW, I prefer fonts that have lower case, if only because ALL CAPS fonts take away one of the basic tools for varying written speech. (I favor the convention used by Questionable Content and others of using ALL CAPS to denote a sarcastic tone instead of loudness.) I generally recommend Komika when people ask, because of the huge number of sub-fonts, good European character support, and generous license terms (even free for commercial use). You can see it in use at Metrophor, and Legostar Galactica recently switched to it too. Also, I prefer elliptical speech bubbles wherever practical. Keep in mind, you can probably "set the leading" (or whatever your software calls it) on text to change the space between lines. It looks like it could've been tightened up a bit on this last page without affecting legibility. Since I'm a visual person and I expect that you are too, here's where the control would be in Photoshop Elements 5.0:

Hey, that's pretty cool. I'm working in CS, but there must be an option for that. I'll be looking into it for next week.
