Do character designs for at least two characters. Include sketches, descriptions, backstories, or whatever you need to flesh out your characters.
This is a creating/picture/short answer assignment.

For this assignment, because it didn't say I couldn't, I decided to make rival characters. First is my Hero Character, "The Witchdoctor." A Micro-telekinetic with a short range, he can manipulate mater down the the quantum level.. He has absolute control of anything within his very limited range. Because he can, and often does use his ability to basically perform surgical repairs of injuries in moments, he presents himself as a Healer. Because sometimes a healer has to fight to protect his patients, he makes sure he doesn't appear to be an easy target. Because what he can do is in defiance of common scientific understanding, and because it intimidates the criminal element, he uses a supernatural theme. Because of the limited range of his power, and to help conceal how powerful it can really be, he uses a short staff for a melee weapon, and a LeMat pistol ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeMat_Revolver ) converted to use modern cased ammo. Next up is the Villain rival character. Going by the name Dead Shot, he is a mid-range gadgeteer. He is an armed robber and gun for hire. He has chosen to base his appearance off an Old West theme. With 'Dead Shot' being a term for someone with perfect aim, his costume is suggestive of a mummified gunslinger. His face mask has built in optics that have a wireless link to his guns. He uses revolvers and a sawed-off shotgun because it makes it easy to use custom ammunition, which he usually makes himself. His body armor, where it is visible on his chest, it molded and painted to go with the corpse look, the same as his mask does. Because the gunslinger look has been used many times, Dead Shot was counting on his ghoulish appearance to make sure he stood out from the rest. When he saw a media broadcast with a clip of The Witchdoctor, wearing a long coat and a wide brimmed hat with a revolver in his hand, Dead Shot felt offended. From that moment on, he decided that this was something he could not ignore and the rivalry was born. Unfortunately for him, Deas Shot was completely out classed. Witchdoctor's ability gives him total control of whatever is in range. This includes bullets fired at him, once they are close enough. His most basic, primal instincts tap into his power, with the result of a near perfect shield. This eliminates Dead Shot's only real avenue of attack. Because he has always liked to use guns, Dead Shot lacks the hand-to-hand skills to win that way either. But as a dedicated villain, he doesn't give up just because he loses. Grade: Lots of points for consistent theme

Introducing the landlady and tenants of Sanctuary Apartments. From left to right: Karen, Changeling, Betty. Magic and myth have come back in the 22nd century. Fey, yokai, roaming spirits and monster are all back and dangerous. Careless people can vanish into the night, 'spirited away.' The lucky (or luckless) few who make it back alive fear being taken again more than death. Sanctuary Apartments is their last hope of living a normal life. Karen is the the landlady and maintains the self-sufficient apartments and the greenhouse. While a prefect superintendent - always prompt with repairs and accommodating to the 'special needs' of some tenants- she never leaves the complex and insists at all rental agreements be signed in blood. Appearance - wears her hair in a bun and sports a matching set of beaded bracelets and necklace. Race and age: Caucasian American, unknown. The Changeling is the newest tenant. As a young boy, he was tricked by a fey into giving his name. Why? All fey love to collect musicians. During his long time 'spirited away,' the fiddle prodigy's hair turned green and his ears changed. He was recently traded back into the mortal realm through a deal with Catholic Church and the Seelie Courts. He speaks little and panics when away from his instrument. Race and age: Caucasian Irish, 20 years old. Betty is a mere 16 years old. She sold her youth for some unknown favor. What ever the bargain was she seems content with it -although she is having trouble 'acting her age' since her body is quiet worn out. She lives in Sanctuary Apartments so the rest of the supernatural community doesn't try to make a repeat costumer of her. Race and age: German American, 16 going on 70. Below is my attempt at facial references for the three main characters. The apartments have many people moving in and out depending on the plot arc. Grade: Bunches of points. Solid idea. I think this would work as a story across many mediums. Have you read Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children? I just finished it and this reminds me of it.
