Share your stories of feasting and togetherness!
My family's bird feast is actually Saturday. My brother and two cousins are all married, so if we tried for a Thursday meal, there's no way we could get everyone to be there. This way we don't compete with all the in-laws.
So tonight, in the interest of not taking up valuable fridge space with leftovers, I made PANCAKES! My signature fluffy perfection pancakes, and we had bacon, and fried-in-bacon-grease eggs, and apple compote, and it was GREAT.

My Thanksgiving was bitter sweet. All my cousins are male, and they're at that stage in a relationship when Thanksgivings is a change to make nice with future in-laws. It was very quiet and small. Turkey was good but my Dad's sweet potato pie stole the show.

You too! I got to cook for the first time in like 3 years. Trained chef, so this is like MY holiday. Did a small get together with the family. My future sister in law has a 3 week old baby, so loots of adults making baby noises to be had. And now I get to find 2820458728097 things to do with turkey! Sidenote, anyone spatchcock their turkey? If not, I suggest testing it on a chicken first so you can try it next year. Takes 1/3rd of the time, and it makes the BEST BIRD EVER.
