You know how it's like. You hear a song and it instantly reminds you of something unrelated to the song. A time in your childhood. The feeling of flying in a plane for the first time. Falling in love. A character in your favorite web-based trope-tastic superhero comic. You know, like everyone does.

I listened to it for a long while, simply enjoying it and then one day, out of the blue, I though, damn. Kinda sounds like the Dark. Who survived? Somebody new? Anyone else but you? Sparkle, Esperanza Macedo (AKA Isauro's ex) are the femme fatale that trampled on two of Val's dear friends. The relationships between Illumina/Sparkle and Coldfire/Lady Dragon are the epitome of toxic. Separting is messy and emotions run deep. When, Mack finally got some closure, this wonderful breakup/angry rate song sprang to mind. Here are two songs by Woodkid that remind me of Isauro On being a soldier, far from home, Iron ("a burst of snow is burning my hand." like a cold fire, hm? HM?) www.youtube.com/watch?v=_af5XrvgssEOn being a young man, always on the run, Run Boy Run www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eje2r90MkGEWoodkid's songs seem to have a lot of themes of running, hiding and being far from home and they remind me of Isauro in a sad way. The Spanish-style beats don't hurt either. |
