This must be a Texas thing, but is anyone going to watch the Democratic debates this evening ?

Not me. Michigan had its (dubious) primary already, so it's more waiting to see who wins.

Yeah, our Democratic primary was a farce. Farcity-farce-farce. The state was stupid and decided to move our date forward even though it was illegal for us to do so, so the Michigan Democratic primary doesn't count as our reps have been stripped as a punishment.

neither did the Texan debate, we are so late in the game that I didn't even get to choose my republican candidate . . . granted I would have voted for John Mccain in the first place, its a matter of principle

No no, your primary still counts. It may not have a lot of IMPACT on some of the races(McCain seems pretty much a lock, at this point). The democratic race is still somewhat up in the air, as far as I know. Clinon trails Obama in delegates by a fairly narrow margin, and leads him in Superdelegate votes by a similar margin. Texas has a lot of delegates, and she's popular there.
Now, MICHIGAN'S primary doesn't count at all. Basically, we had it just for fun. The delegates have been taken away and aren't being counted in the votes. This may become important later if it's REALLY close. Having your vote not count isn't quite the same as having your vote count but not mean much because the winner is already pretty secure.
What I don't understand is why you say you DIDN'T get to choose your republican candidate...as far as I knew, the primary isn't until March 4th. (Which is national Dungeon Master's Day, btw.)

supposedly we, as in Michigan, might have another primary, along with Florida.

I'm going to be pissed if we have another primary. If it's a full blown poll primary (as opposed to a mail-in), it'll cost Michigan millions of dollars. Millions of dollars we don't freaking have! Hey Michigan, ya messed up and did your primary too early and got penalized for it. Now take your punishment and shut up.

I dunno, I'd rather have my vote mean something than not. It's possible that the Democratic race will be SO close that they need to do something about Florida and Michigan's delegates to determine a winner.

I am kind of hoping that we don't not have another one. Then again it won't matter for me since I don't belong to any party
