No offense, but I think I'm going to have to hurt you, now. Man, I'd love to go to one of those games but it's alot more $ than I'm willing to spend.

If you can find a discount place, you might be able to get in for not too much. Do you know anyone that works in a hospital? That's how my mom got the discount. If not...then to you I say with all respect and sympathy...ha ha!

Heh, I deserved that one. I'll see about some of the discount places, but I probably should just listen to the game and work on the dragonscale costume for this summer's renaissance festival season. (386 scales sewn onto a hauberk, out of 825 I do take on the overlarge projects.)

Aw, Michigan Ren Fest is the best. Gives us a reason to break out our corsets and jingely things.

So, Erika, tell us how it was at the game? I saw the results (and listened to the game on the radio) but I'm dying to hear what it was like to actually be there.

(Hyper crazy excitedness ahead)
It was FANTASTIC! The place was packed, everyone was yelling. The game was very fast and tense. We pulled ahead with less than two minutes to go and everyone stood til the end. I could actually feel the heat from the pyrotechnics when we scored.
My head is throbbing and my throat is sore. I have never yelled so loud in my life. I also somehow managed to catch one of the free pizza boxes, but by the time we got to the pizza station after the game, they were closed. We got free white towells to wave around, and I bought a stuffed octopus. My puppy is convinced that it should be HER octopus. She is mistaken.
The difference between the crowd in a regular game and tonight was night and day. It was absolutely amazing.

I watched the game last night, too, did you? Man, I don't think I've ever seen Anaheim play this well, but even so I think Detroit is clearly the better team. Right now the goalie is keeping them in the game, but I know from experience that if too much is riding on just one player it's going to catch up with you. Hopefully they'll start calling the interference and hooking more, too.

Gah. GAH! I saw the last few minutes of the second period, and all of the third the other night. Including that absolute SH** call at the end that cost us a chance at overtime.
But tonight is the night! Tie up the series, get some momentum going for game five...oh, yes.

Wow, Detroit really found the cracks in Anaheim's armor in the last game. I'm curious to see what happens next.

I was all tense through most of that game, since it was pretty much do or die for the wings. But the Did! Owned them quite thoroughly through most of it, too. I was getting nervous towards the end, when they seemed to come back a bit. Fortunately, it was too little, too late. If we can win tomorrow, which I think we can, I think it will be a solid win on tuesday to win the series.

Hoo yes, and what a win! Detroit out-shot them by an incredible margin, really took it to them. Plus, they had two rookies in the lineup who did quite well. Word is Kopecky will probably need surgery, though, so that's not good. I think Detroit's going to take the next game, too. Anaheim's coach said he thought his team looked "run down" alot of the game. Detroit definitely had some of that in mind with who they played one rookie (who played at MSU, my old college, so I admit to feeling a little biased there) was told to go out there and "run people over" which he did: he led the team in hits tonight, and got an assist on the first goal. Things look good.

Hey, hey, tell them about the signature.

Oh!
So I formulated (with the help of a couple of coworkers, Lore included) some Red Wing drinks for the playoffs, and spent an inordinate amount of time making a very nice sign for them. Sign's been up for a few weeks now. Then yesterday when I got to work...Kirk had signed it! Aww, I thinks to myself! And squee!
It happened sometime on the morning shift, and we don't know if the morning crew ganged up on him and begged, or if he just happened to get happy with a sharpie.
I also DID get my new jersey, and will be taking it to work with me from now on on the off chance that I'll catch him and beg him to autograph that.

That's too cool! Congrats. So, I'm predicting they close it out, tonight. The Red Wings have been getting stronger and Anaheim's getting run down. Plus they've figured out Anaheim's goalie, so they know where to shoot and when. Chicago finished their series, so I'm predicting that Detroit will take them in 6, as well. THAT will be a really good series!
