I said (not here) wings in five as well, so this is to be expected. They're too good a team to sweep, but we're too good a team to beat. And now we get to win at home.

All in all, we were really dogging it last game. From what I saw the Wings didn't really have their hearts in winning this game. Then again, the only time the Penguins scored was on Power Plays or an open goal.

We also didn't get a couple of power plays. Like when the Pens had six guys on the ice for over twenty seconds and NO ONE NOTICED.

I'm hearing alot more complaints about the officiating, I don't think it's just you. On the plus side, Draper is definitely in, and Datsyuk is probably in, as well. There's some slight uncertainty about Holmstrom, but I expect he'll be playing. While that probably means that Leino and Abdelkader are out, it will improve the team. What amazes me is thinking about this: Datsyuk is one of three finalists for the Selke trophy. Maalkin is, too. Imagine Pittsburgh without Maalkin: No contest for Detroit. Detroit without Datsyuk won the first two and was a serious challenge in game 3. Now that's depth!

Ok, so it'll be six, not five...

Man, we were really in top form tonight, and the Penguins had some really bad penalties.

Wow, I just finished listening to the game, and boy did the Redwings get back on track! I think it sounds like the ref's were calling a much tighter game, and Pittsburgh got pretty frustrated out there. Plus, Datsyuk sure had a great return. If they can play like that in the next one, it's done in 6. (and I expect that to be the case, the Wings have won only one series at home this entire playoff-run!) It would really suck to be on Pittsburgh's team if Detroit wins it once again in their barn, I have to admit.

That kicked so much ass!! Now the only thing that's cheesing me off SO hard is that the schedule is different than I thought it was. I thought game six was Monday. Nope. Tuesday. The day I'm working. A close. At the other store. BAH!

Tonight's the night! Party at my house! It's going to be incredibly awesome.
I am going to MAKE them win through sheer force of WILL.

Next year...we can win next year.
I'm very disappointed, and yet, still very proud. They played hard. If they were on sale now, I'd buy tickets for the season home opener today.

It may be a bit early to re-ignite this thread, but they are putting a run together right now, and looking pretty darn good. For my own selfish interest, though, I hope they don't end up playing against Ryan Miller's team in the finals: I'd have to root for both to win as they both have players from my real hockey love: MSU. (I was there when Ryan Miller broke the 70 year-old shutout record, so I'm a bit smug that I was a fan before most knew who he was) Add to that, Ryan's brother Drew is playing for the Wings, how wild is that?

Am I the only one who saw Red Wings and thought of food?

I read Red Wings and thought Dr. Cox from Scrubs To we poor deprived down in Australia only know your fancy sports teams as abstract concepts that TV show characters sometimes talk about
